How This Got Started

This got started about a year ago….if that. Ever since i visited 9and10news i have really been into the weather. But about a year ago i noticed that Northern Michigan didn’t really have a good place to receive all of the weather information… not just bits and pieces. So i made Dill’s weather page… That kinda took of like a rocket. I have been into weather a lot, it seems the more i track the weather, the more i want to be a meteorologist. It makes me feel good to give people a forecast that’s accurate and that will keep them safe. Then I met this kid named Ryan and he was a meteorologist like me. He gave me some tips and then i made dylanswethaerpage.googlepages.com only one big problem is that i spelled weather wrong…. i type way to fast!!! The website also wasn’t really even done so i re-did it and that’s when Dylan’s Weather came About.

Me and 9and10 News

If you know me then you know i LOVE 9and10 news. My dream is to work there beside the meteorologist and track severe weather with them. Now back in 5th grade i had to be the luckiest kid in the world. Our school had a career day. Well one of my teachers told me that Mr. Tom O’Hare was coming in and they wanted to know if i would meet him and show him around the school. Well of course i accepted! So i got to meet Tom O’Hare and watch his presentation…It was so cool….. Now here comes the day that i will never forget. It was on 5/31/05 when my dad said he had a surprise. All he told me was to wear nice clothes and he would pick me up. So as we were driving my step mom put a blind fold on me so i could not see the tower. So as we arrive my dad parks the truck right in front of this huge 9and10 news sign. So they pulled the blind fold off i seen the sign and i was so happy that i cried tears of joy(something i have never done before). All of a sudden there was a voice that said “hello there” and it was Jim Lehocky. He gave us a tour around the studio and showed me all the controls. He showed me around the news room and around the weather center. It was amazing with all the weather computers and were they went on for severe weather events. Then Jim showed us to our seats and we got to watch the news and Jim even let me listen to the control room threw a headset. I also got to meet Kimberly Purdy and John MaGowan.(which was really cool) Then Jim asked me if i wanted to go and do my own weather show in front of the green screen! So i got to make a video in front of the green screen and it turned out OK….It was really funny. Then 2 weeks later my Principle played the video to the hole school…that was really cool. Over the years i have wrote about my experience at 9and10. In 8th grade we had to make an American and me essay about your hero’s. I wrote about Jim Lehocky and how i want to go to college at CMU and how he told me to keep my grades up. I got 11th place in our grade of 96 students! Someday i would love to go back to 9and10 and watch how they make their forecast. To see how they work and maybe even give some ideas. I am also interested to intern at 9and10 news when I’m older. I get really excited about 9and10 news, and i have even made my own forecast and made my own 9and10 news icon.(At Bottom) I have kept in touch over the years. Just recently the meteorologist took at look at my website and were very impressed. They have really made a difference in my life, even if they didn’t know it. Now I also got to meet Doppler 9and10 Weather Meteorologist Kevin Uselman. It was at a Basketball game and they played my teachers. Now the only reason I went to the game is because Kevin was going to be there. Now I did get to meet him. He was really nice; when I meet him I was shaking. My legs were shaking so bad they were uncontrollable.  He was so nice that he gave me some weather professors form CMU!  Kevin has also emailed me on 9and10news which really makes me smile. One was during a severe weather event and the other they did a whole fox topix area on just mine which I still have on TVO!!
